REMSA Undergraduate Scholarship Program Overview

The REMSA undergraduate scholarship program is open to REMSA member companies only. Information and applications are sent to the REMSA representative of each member company, usually in the first quarter of the year. Representatives are responsible for disseminating REMSA scholarship program information to employees, and students are invited to call REMSA directly to request scholarship information. 
 
To be eligible for consideration, an applicant must:
  • be a full- or part-time employee of a REMSA member company; or the spouse, son, daughter, grandson or granddaughter of a current full-time employee of a REMSA member company. An employee who is the scholarship applicant does not have to be a full-time employee.  Interns are not eligible;
  • be enrolled and in attendance at the time of application as a full-time college student at an accredited two-year college offering an associate’s degree or an accredited college or university offering a bachelor’s degree; and
  • demonstrate successful completion of the previous year of study and a willingness to continue.

REMSA 2018 Student Engineer at InnoTrans Career Award

REMSA is pleased to announce that we are partnering with InnoTrans to send two (2) student to attend InnoTrans 2018, which will take place in Berlin, Germany, September 18-21, 2018.

InnoTrans is the world's leading trade show for rail transportation technology and takes place every two years in Berlin.  In 2016, 2,955 exhibitors from 60 countries presented their rail industry innovations to 137,391 trade visitors from 119 countries.  Five segments of transportation are represented at InnoTrans, and include Railway Technology, Railway Infrastructure, Public Transport, Interiors, and Tunnel Construction.  InnoTrans also features outdoor displays on 3,500 meters of track, where everything from tank wagons to high-speed locomotives can be seen.

REMSA will be sending two students to participate in the InnoTrans Career Award.  The concept of the Career Award is to spark the interest of the future generation in rail and promote career opportunities withing the rail industry.  InnoTrans will provide the students with opportunities to meet directly with global players, small- and medium-sized companies, specialized associations, and universities, and learn about their current job vacancies, internships, and fields of work.
